Visit to the village of Manzanares el Real
Students of 3rd of Primary and 1st of Secondary spend a day in Sierra de Madrid
They spent the day in the beautiful town of Manzanares el Real, at the foots of the Sierra de Guadarrama , and on the shores of Santillana Reservoir, where they were able to visit its majestic and well preserved castle , built by the Mendoza family in 1,475. First they had a nice walk through the streets of the village, where they were able to admire the picturesque Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
Afterwards they had the chance to enjoy a guided tour with characters dressed in costumes of the XVII century, with Don Pedro and Doña Isabel, explaining the architecture, objects, furniture, uses and customs breathing between the walls of this medieval fortress, finished in the Renaissance and with details of the Spanish Golden Age.
After the visit students headed to a beautiful and pleasant natural spot at the foot of the natural park of La Pedriza to enjoy a lunch in nature ,terminate the tour and return to the school.
