Our Irish penpals
There are traditions that the new technologies do not necesary have to change. One of them is the coumication by traditional mail between different cultures and nationalities.
Our 2nd and 3rd graders are practicing English and learning about Irish culture and society thanks to the Penpals project, a traditional activity in which our students write in English to Irish students of their own age who want to learn about Spanish culture at Scoil Cholmcille College, Blackstaff, Inniskeen Co. Monaghan, Ireland.
It has been exciting to see the face of joy of our students when they opened the package sent by their new Irish friends. Illusion and joy that is sure to repeat itself in Ireland when our shipment arrives..
Thanks to Miss Pilar, the English teacher and Miss Katie, our conversation assistant, for having developed this project of a union between two cultures separated by distance but now more united by mutual knowledge.
