Learning outside the classroom: Discovering El Prado museum
3rd of E.S.O. students visit Prado Museum
Last December 2nd our 3rd of E.S.O. students made a trip to the famous Prado Museum, where they could admire some of the greatest art masterpieces in history.
They made the first stop in the nearby Retiro Park, where they visited the Crystal Palace and also an exhibition of contemporary art.
After lunch, they headed to the museum. There every student was assigned to visualize and analyze a painting he had previously assigned and saw the artistic wonders that El Prado offers.
El Prado National Museum, opened in 1.819, is one of the most important art galleries in the world and one of the most visited museums. It is uniquely rich in paintings of European masters from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century, a large presence of Velázquez, El Greco, Murillo, Goya (artist most widely represented in the museum), Titian, Rubens, Bosch of having the best and most extensive collections existing worldwide.
Such a cultural day certainly helped them to get a little closer to some of the greatest art masterpieces of history.
